4. Taster session for new starters

Before the first free taster session, a Taekwondo Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (Short: T-PAR-Q) needs to be completed. It is a standard method of uncovering health and lifestyle issues before a Taekwondo training programme starting. The questionnaire is short and easy to administer and reveals any family history of illness. Starters who are taking part in a free taster session have also insurance cover through British Taekwondo. For more information, please refer to section 6 and the British Taekwondo Insurance Policy here.

5. Club Registration

After the free taster session, a club membership application and consent form need to be completed in full and signed with the appropriate fee for insurance with British Taekwondo and the costs of training. You can use these online forms for adults and children.

Taekwondo4Fitness does not charge a membership or joining fee, but a small handling fee of £5 for the registration and renewal.

6. British Taekwondo Insurance

The insurance costs are typically 22£ and are renewable every year.

Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, a new "Family & Friends Membership" is currently offered to new joiners by British Taekwondo for 10£ per person. It is valid for six months and now includes online activities. More info can be found here

Nobody can train without it!

The BT-Membership Application must be filled in by the student or parent if the student is under 18. The member pays the fee at the signup to the instructor.

7. Attending classes

Members are allocated a place at a class of their choice and subject to availability. If the class is full, new starters or members will be offered a spot on the waiting list for the class required.

Class attendance is strictly monitored, and the members are expected to turn up to all sessions on time during the specified term. Members must notify the instructor of any sessions where late arrival or absence is expected during that time (sickness, injury, etc.).

Where possible, members may be offered an alternative session to attend in the place of a missed class. In general, missed sessions are not transferable or refundable with less than 24 hours of notice. This is at the discretion of the instructor.

Only members who can commit to attending classes consistently every week will be allocated a place in class. If attendance becomes inconsistent, Taekwondo4Fitness is under no commitment to hold the member's place in the class. Taekwondo4Fitness has the right to offer the place to a new starter or member.

If members should miss two subsequent sessions, they lose the right to their place at that class. This place will then be released to a new starter on the waiting list or another member.

In case of long injury/sickness where the member has informed Taekwondo4Fitness, we will try to offer a place back at the original class attended as soon as possible. We will provide an alternative of the moment; however, this cannot be guaranteed, nor is Taekwondo4Fitness under any obligation to provide this.

The option to pay monthly offers discounted classes when attending consistently. In the event of missed sessions, regardless of the reason, no refunds will be given. If a member pays monthly, this does not include special events, i.e. gradings, seminars, competitions...

For any child who is under the age of 16, written consent is required from a parent or a legal guardian. This will be provided to Taekwondo4Fitness before the commencement of classes after the first trial session. This consent is to be given via the club registration and consent form.

8. Ten-Minute-Rule

There is a 10 minutes rule in place. Participants who repeatedly turn up later than ten minutes are no longer allowed to participate in the session.

Members who turn up late within this time slot are requested to wait at the entrance area until the instructor asks him to join the class.

9. Class Changes/Cancellations/Closures

Taekwondo4Fitness reserves the right to change and cancel classes when necessary due to bad weather conditions, instructor illness, unforeseen circumstances and any other issues that may stop the class from taking place.

If Taekwondo4Fitness has to cancel sessions for any reason, no refunds can be given; however, an alternative class may be offered where possible.

If the number of students is low at a particular class, Taekwondo4Fitness reserves the right to cancel this class at any time. Class cancellations will be notified via the Taekwondo4Fitness group on WhatsApp and Facebook or via text messages/emails to those students who have permitted this kind of correspondence.

Taekwondo4Fitness reserves the right to change the training schedule, add and remove classes, where needed, looking after to minimise the impact on members as far as possible.

Taekwondo4Fitness closes on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas period. Taekwondo is under no obligation to refund class fees for this period of closure; no refund will be issued.

Over the school holidays, in case of the Grange School is closed or the Gym facility unavailable, depending on the costs and availability, classes may be offered at a different facility at the Grange School or an alternative venue (i.e. the Aylesbury Multicultural Community Centre). This is subject to costs and availability.
